The Strength of our Blades
Ceramic is second only to diamond in hardness. It is that hardness, combined with Forever's proprietary technology which allows their knives to retain their sharpness to a remarkable degree. The secret to our knives is Ziconium Dioxide, an innovative high tech material ideal for most normal kitchen usage.

Ceramic is formed by the action of heat. It can become curved and distorted when fired at high temperatures, so other manufacturers need to polish the surface of the entire blade to finish it off. However, this polishing weakens the strength of the ceramic. Forever has the unique technology to fire without causing either curving or distortion. What are the main advantages of ceramic knives?
Superior hardness, superior corrosion resistance, chemically inert and a naturally non-stick surface are the main features of ceramic knives. In your kitchen these properties relate to a long lasting sharper edge that will not rust or stain. Ceramic blades are far more hygienic than metal - they will not react with your fresh food or alter the taste by depositing metal ions. Ceramic blades rinse clean under running water.

What are ceramic knives made of?
The most important raw material in the manufacture of Forever's ceramic knives is zirconium oxide. Among its key properties are hardness and wear resistance. Forever use only the finest Japanese zirconium oxide of the utmost purity. Zirconium oxide's properties, and Forever's manufacturing method, enable Forever's ceramic knives to retain their sharpness much longer than steel knives and other ceramic kitchen knives.

How are ceramic knives made?
Forever's ceramic knives begin life as powder. They are then formed in dry presses at extremely high pressure. Next, they are sintered in a furnace at more than 1000 degrees. Finally, to complete the manufacturing process, the cutting edge of the knife is polished. This manufacturing method, which is totally unique to Forever, enables us to create high density, wear resistant knives.

How do I sharpen my ceramic knife?
Forever ceramic knives retain their sharp edge more than 300 times longer than stainless steel. If the knife should lose any of its cutting edge it can be sharpened using a Forever Diamond Sharpener. It is easy to use and can sharpen both ceramic and stainless steel knives.
